A Complete Application for Official Plan Amendment has been made by Upper Canada Consultants on behalf of Ashton Homes (Western) Limited to redesignate lands legally described as Firstly Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In TH22039; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 1 Plan 59R799; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In BB58929; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 2 Plan 59R799; and Secondly Part Township Lot 226 Thorold, Being Part 1, Plan 59R-14904; City Of Welland. Municipally known as 210,276 Quaker Road, from the existing Low Density Greenfield Residential, Open Space, and Environmental Conservation Area to Low Density Residential, Medium Density Residential, Open Space, and Environmental Conservation Area in the City of Welland Official Plan. The purpose of the Amendment is to permit a residential subdivision comprised of two hundred and sixty four (264) single-detached dwellings, and seventy six (76) townhouse dwellings, a park, and areas for environmental conservation and storm water management.

A Complete Application for Zoning By-law Amendment has been made by Upper Canada Consultants on behalf of Ashton Homes (Western) Limited to rezone lands legally described as Firstly Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In TH22039; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 1 Plan 59R799; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In BB58929; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 2 Plan 59R799; and Secondly Part Township Lot 226 Thorold, Being Part 1, Plan 59R-14904; City Of Welland. Municipally known as 210,276 Quaker Road, from the existing Agricultural – A1 and Environmental Conservation Overlay to Site-Specific Residential Low Density 2, Site-Specific Residential Medium Density, and Environmental Conservation Overlay. The purpose of the Amendment is to permit a residential subdivision comprised of two hundred and sixty four (264) single-detached dwellings, and seventy six (76) townhouse dwellings, a park, and areas for environmental conservation and storm water management.

A Complete Application for Draft Plan of Subdivision has been made by Upper Canada Consultants on behalf of Ashton Homes (Western) Limited for lands legally described as Firstly Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In TH22039; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 1 Plan 59R799; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold As In BB58929; Part Township Lot 227 Thorold Part 2 Plan 59R799; and Secondly Part Township Lot 226 Thorold, Being Part 1, Plan 59R-14904; City Of Welland. Municipally known as 210,276 Quaker Road. The purpose of the Draft Plan of Subdivision is to permit a residential subdivision comprised of two hundred and sixty four (264) single-detached dwellings, and seventy six (76) townhouse dwellings, a park, and areas for environmental conservation and storm water management.

A Virtual/In-Person Public Information Meeting, to be held by City Staff, has been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on December 4, 2024, at the Civic Square, Room 108/109, 60 East Main Street, Welland. If you would like to participate virtually in the Public Information Meeting, please contact Caitlin Kovacs at caitlin.kovacs@welland.ca no later than 12:00 p.m. on December 4, 2024, to be provided with a link to participate.

A Statutory Public Hearing in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Act will be held by Council at 6:00 P.M., January 14, 2025, at the Civic Square, Council Chambers, 60 East Main Street, Welland. To participate virtually, please contact the City Clerk, Tara Stephens at clerk@welland.ca no later than 12:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025, to be provided with a link to participate. Please ensure to identify the file number(s) in the email request for participation in the Statutory Public Meeting. The public is invited to these meetings to make oral or written submissions. All written submissions received by 12:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024, will be presented to City Council as part of the staff report on this matter.
