Stay up to date with what’s open and closed this Holiday Season.

  • City Hall -All City Hall Departments will be closed from Friday, December 22, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. to Monday, January 1, 2024, inclusive, and will re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.
  • Public Works - Will be closed Monday December 25, and Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
  • Welland Farmers’ Market - Will be open Saturday, December 23, 2023, and Saturday, December 30, 2023.
  • Main and Jack Ballantyne (Youth) Arenas
    • - Closed Monday, December 25, 2023
    • - Closed Tuesday, December 26, 2023
    • - Wednesday December 27, 2023 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Thursday December 28, 2023 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Friday December 29, 2023 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Saturday December 30, 2023 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Sunday December 31, 2023 New Year’s Eve Skate at the Main Arena is from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Free for everyone). Non-perishable food items are collected at this free event to support The Hope Centre.
    • - Closed Monday, January 1, 2024
    • - Tuesday January 2, 2024 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Wednesday January 3, 2024 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Thursday January 4, 2024 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • - Friday January 5, 2024 free public skating at the Main Arena 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Welland Community Centre
    • - Open Saturday, December 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • - Closed Christmas Eve Sunday, December 24, 2023

    • - Closed Boxing Day Tuesday, December 26, 2023
    • - Open Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • - Open Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • - Open Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • - Open Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • - Closed New Year's Eve Sunday, December 31, 2023
    • - Closed New Year’s Day Monday, January 1, 2024
    • - Regular service will resume on Tuesday January 2, 2024, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Taxes and/or Water - Payment of bills may still be made by utilizing the drop box located at the easterly front entrance of Civic Square, 60 East Main Street.

Parking tickets - payments can now be made using Visa or MasterCard through our online service at www.welland.ca/parking/onlinepayments.asp (please allow for 2 business days, for your ticket to be processed and added to the online payment system).

In the event of an urgent road, water, sewer, facilities, or forestry problem, please call the City’s 24-hour response line at 905-735-1700 x3000.
