Quaker Road from Clare/Line Ave to Kaywood Court

This notice is to inform you of an upcoming road closure along Quaker Road between Kaywood Court and Line Ave/Clare Ave. The closure is part of the micro tunneling operations, which will be the next phase of the ongoing Quaker Road Trunk Sanitary Project with Niagara Region, which aims to improve regional infrastructure. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.

Please note, that no through-local traffic or emergency access will be permitted and Quaker Road will remain closed between Clare Ave/Line Ave and Pelham St during all closure phases.

Closure Details:

Phase 1: Temporary Full Road Closure
Start Date: Thursday, March 27 at 7 a.m.
End Date: Friday, April 4 at 5 p.m.

Phase 2: Temporary Re-Opening
Start Date: Monday, April 7, 7 a.m.
End Date: Wednesday, April 23, 5 p.m.

Phase 3: Long-Duration Mircotunnel Operations Closure
Start Date: Thursday, April, 24, 7 a.m.
End Date: Friday, July 25, 5 p.m.

Phase 4: Permanent Road Re-Opening
Start Date: Monday, July 28, 7 a.m.
End Date: N/A

During the full road closure, the following detour routes will be in place:

Detour for Eastbound Traffic:
South Detour: Clare Ave – Woodlawn Rd (RR-41) – Rice Rd – Quaker Rd
North Detour – Pelham St – Port Robinson Rd – Rice Rd – Quaker Rd

Detour for Westbound Traffic:
South Detour: Rice Rd – Woodlawn Rd (RR-41) – Clare Ave – Quaker Rd
North Detour: Rice Rd – Port Robinson Rd – Pelham St

Notice of construction - Quaker Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Upgrade

City of Welland and Town of Pelham Quaker Road Closure

• Quaker Rd Closure - Notice 1

Niagara Region will be constructing a new sanitary trunk sewer along Quaker Road between Pelham Street and Rice Road in the City of Welland and Town of Pelham. The new 600mm sanitary trunk sewer was identified as a long-term system improvement, which provides sanitary sewer relief along Quaker Road connecting the Pelham Street Regional sanitary sewer to the outlet sewer east of Rice Road. This will provide adequate capacity for future sanitary flows.
