City of Welland launches digital parking permits for greater convenience

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | January 27, 2025

The City of Welland is making parking permit applications easier and more accessible with the launch of a new digital parking permit system. Residents no longer need to display physical permits in their vehicles, as the new online system simplifies the process of obtaining and managing parking permits.

The digital parking permit portal, available at https://welland.gtechna.net/permit-portal/, enables residents to apply for and manage various parking permits, including those for parking lots, on-street residential parking, and snow clearing exemption.

“Our goal is to enhance convenience and efficiency for residents by modernizing the way parking permits are issued,” said James Cronshaw, supervisor of parking & by-law enforcement. “This system eliminates the need for physical permits, streamlining the process and ensuring better service for our community.”

For residents who may not be familiar with digital services, in-person permit applications will still be processed by the parking & by-law enforcement staff at City Hall.
