City of Welland welcomes two key leaders to its departmental and leadership teams

The City of Welland is pleased to announce the recent appointments of Stephanie Nagel as the General Manager of Corporate and Enterprise Services/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Jessica Ruddell as the Director of Community Services.

After a thorough selection process that drew an impressive pool of qualified candidates, Stephanie Nagel and Jessica Ruddell emerged as the ideal choices to fill these crucial roles. Their appointments reinforce the City’s commitment to building a strong, skilled, diverse team.

“This marks a significant step forward for the City of Welland, and we are excited about the contributions they will make to our ongoing efforts to execute our strategic plan,” said CAO Rob Axiak. “As we move forward, we will lean on the innovative and experienced mindsets of both Jessica and Stephanie to further cement Welland as a premier community.”

Stephanie Nagel is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in municipal finance. Holding a Master’s in Public Administration and a CPA, Stephanie’s impressive background includes a significant tenure as the Director of Corporate Finance/Treasurer with the Region of Peel and previous experience working with the City of Welland from 2003 to 2008.

Jessica Ruddell joins the City as the Director of Community Services, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in municipal administration. Holding dual Masters in Business Administration and Public Administration, Jessica has over two decades of experience spanning aquatics, recreation, fleet, and operations. Her diverse skill set and leadership experience, most recently as the Manager of Fleet Services in the City of Mississauga, is a tremendous asset to the team.

Both Nagel and Ruddell officially begin their tenures with Welland on January 29.
