Clare Avenue watermain emergency repair

The recent hydrant replacement operation identified a defective watermain that requires immediate emergency repair.

Please be advised the City of Welland will be conducting a valve replacement on Wednesday, November 27, on Clare Avenue beginning at 7 a.m.

Please see the map for the affected area.

Water service will be interrupted, so please consider filling clean jugs for drinking and cooking purposes while the repairs are underway. Until the repairs are complete, please refrain from doing laundry and using the dishwasher.

Once the repairs are finished, you may temporarily experience discoloured water; this is common and can be quickly rectified by running your cold water only in the lowest point in your home, such as a basement laundry tub or washroom sink. This may take five to 15 minutes, if after 15 minutes you have not seen improvement, please contact the City of Welland Public Works division.
