Laugher Avenue infrastructure renewals – low water alert

Posted | October 30, 2023

At approximately 9 p.m. on November 1, until approximately 6 a.m. on November 2, for those in the affected area, bound to the west by Canal Bank Street, to the north by Lincoln Street, to the east by the Welland Canal, and extending south to include the Dain City area, please be aware of low water pressures due to infrastructure renewals.

A transmission watermain will be isolated and drained at the intersection of Southworth Street and Laugher Avenue to safely facilitate the removal of a water valve. Water supply will be largely uninterrupted; however, water pressure in the affected area may be lower than normal. A small area in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience a disruption in service.

Isolated properties with expected service disruptions will be notified in advance. Should you experience any discoloured water, flush your tap for five minutes or until the water runs clear. If the condition persists, contact Public Works at 905-735-1700, x3000.

Because this work needs to be completed during cooperative weather, please note the alternate rain date and time: Approximately 9 p.m. on November 2 until approximately 6 a.m. on November 3.
